Document being finalised. The information below describes the current state of the service and will be updated after legal review.
Purpose
These terms govern use of the BAO website and platform, an urban mobility and local discovery information service currently operated under the responsibility of Yabyoure Philippe OUEDRAOGO, within the BAO project.
Account and user content
Creating an account is optional for access to essential features. When publishing a community contribution, users remain responsible for the accuracy of the information they provide and must accept the applicable rules in their current version.
Community contribution rules
Applicable version: UGC-2026-08-18. Contributions must be useful to the service, submitted in good faith and related to the reported situation. Prohibited content and behaviour include: illegal content or conduct; threats, harassment, hatred or discrimination; sexually explicit content or content exploiting a person; impersonation, fraud, deception or deliberately false reports; spam, unrelated advertising and malicious links; unauthorised disclosure of personal, confidential or identifying information about another person; and any content encouraging dangerous acts or endangering others.
Reporting, blocking and moderation
Users can report abuse and block the author of a contribution through the tools available in BAO. To protect users and the integrity of the service, BAO may limit visibility, hide, remove or restore a contribution, and suspend contribution privileges when these rules are breached or abuse is repeated. These measures are applied proportionately and do not prevent access to reporting or blocking tools intended for safety.
Service provided
BAO provides information about bus routes, stops, indicative times and places of interest. This information is based on field collection and available sources. It does not guarantee schedules, availability or real-time service.
Access to the service
The features currently presented in Transport and Discover are free for users.
Liability
BAO cannot be held liable for delays, missed connections, route changes or information that becomes outdated because of network operations, traffic or external events. Users remain responsible for their journeys and decisions.
Changes to these terms
These terms may evolve with the service and legal framework. The applicable version is the one published on baoapp.africa on the date of consultation. A new version of the community contribution rules may require renewed acceptance before a new contribution is published.
